It was noted that Cllr Julia Long automatically ceases to be a councillor as she has been absent for 6 consecutive months (section 85 LGA1972)
- To consider co-option of 3 Councillors for Underwood ward and 1 Councillor for Selston ward
No applications were received. The vacancies will continue to be advertised for Co-option until they are filled.

RESOLVED: To move the following items to ‘confidential’
(1) Item 20 (Update on land dispute and consider any subsequent actions) – due to it being of a sensitive nature and an ongoing legal dispute
(2) Item 21 (Consider Solicitors’ advice regarding potential sale of grazing land at New Selston) – due to it relating to terms of tenders/contracts
(3) Item 22 (Update on sale of 35 Mansfield Road) – due to it relating to terms of tenders/contracts
This was done by a single resolution.
- Police report
A brief update was provided by PC Rob Cook.
Councillors were given the opportunity to ask questions and report any concerns which the police responded to and noted but they advised that incidents need to be reported by dialiing 101 to raise awareness.

RESOLVED: To approve the recommendations of the Finance Committee and grant £150 to Activity 4 Health (Boccia) and £95 to cover the cost of room hire for a Fundraising event in aid of Maggies Nottingham and the Ukraine Orphanage.
- To consider pending Planning Applications
There were no comments in relation to the pending planning applications

- To consider the annual inspection report received in respect of play areas in Selston parish
The Clerk informed that a new seat for the springer at Westwood was £93 +VAT, and the spring brake for the zipline is £110 + VAT and will be fitted in approximately 2 weeks when the contractor is available.
The Parish Warden has identified a defect on the inclusive boat swing seat on Westwood Recreation Ground which would cost £911.70 + VAT to replace.
RESOLVED: To purchase a new boat swing seat
The report highlighted the poor state of the Skate Park at Jacksdale and Cllr A Gascoyne would like to take the lead on sourcing a replacement. It was noted that the Parish Council has £24000 in earmarked reserves for the Jacksdale Skate Park so grant funding will be required. It was agreed that Cllr A Gascoyne will provide information for the next Full Council meeting on the 29th September 2025.
The Clerk advised that the Recreations Ground Committee should meet to consider and review the Play Strategy that ADC introduced in 2017 and consider any information that Cllr Gascoyne has obtained.
- Update on Parish Council’s support to the RBL event being held in Jacksdale on 9th August 2025 to commemoration of VJ 80th Anniversary
Mercian Regiment stands are no longer available, due to other commitments but the Ram will still be there from 11.00 to 12.30
- Update on proposed arrangements for Remembrance Sunday
Cllr A Gascoyne informed that he had booked a Trumpeter and Drummer for the parade and that the Jacksdale parade will commence from Jacksdale Welfare, so the road closure needs to be extended.
- To consider the request to hold an Event on Jacksdale Recreation Ground 13th September 2025
RESOLVED: To not organise the Event as Selston Parish Council but to approve the request if the organisers have their own Insurance
