Precept
The majority of a Parish Council’s income is derived from an annual charge called the precept. The precept is made up of a small part of the Council Tax charge which is collected by Ashfield District Council, from each paying household within the parish. Selston Parish Council’s charge is currently approximately £92.06 per annum for a band D property.
Other Income
Other income of the Parish Council includes letting fees of facilities (such as sports facilities), room hire rental charges, any monies from lease agreements (such as the allotments), any successful grant awards from outside agencies, donations given and any investment income.
The Council’s current total income is approximately £356,875.00 which is mainly spent on the upkeep and maintenance of its various properties and facilities.
