Allotment sites
Selston Parish Council owns and manages 2 allotment sites in Selston. One site is on Mansfield Road and the other one is on Nottingham Road.
There is also an allotment site on Cordy Lane in Underwood, but this isn’t owned or managed by the Parish Council.
Community Buildings
Selston Parish Council (in association with Selston Parish Village Halls Charity) has responsibility for five community buildings. These include, Jacksdale Community Centre, Old Council Offices in Selston, Parish Hall in Selston, Sports Pavilion in Selston and Underwood Community Centre.
Last year the upkeep and maintenance of the facilities including Recreation Grounds cost the Parish Council over £340,000.
Recreation Grounds
Selston Parish Council has responsibility for 11 recreation grounds within the parish.
These include St Mary’s Walk in Jacksdale.
Also, Columbia Avenue, Lea Lane, Town Green and Woodnook, all in Selston, the recreation ground in Jubilee and the one on Station Road at New Selston. The Council is also responsible for two areas of open space at Portland Road in Selston.
In Underwood, we also manage Friezeland recreation ground, Middlebrook Hill and Underwood Hill.
The recreation ground at Palmerston Street, Westwood, including the changing rooms also belongs to the Parish Council.
