Dear Councillor
You are hereby summoned to attend the Extra ordinary Meeting of Selston Parish Council on Monday, 5 January 2026 at 7.30 pm in the Bar Area at Selston Parish hall.
The meeting will not be open to the public due to the sensitive nature of the business to be considered as per (c)and (d) below.
Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 refers to the power to exclude not being exercisable generally, but only for a particular occasion.
Local Government Act 1972, ss 100 and 102 refers to it being desirable to treat the discussion of the following types of business as confidential:
(a) Engagement, terms of service, conduct and dismissal of employees;
(b) Terms of tenders and proposals and counter-proposals in negotiation with contracts;
(c) Preparation of cases in legal proceedings; and
(d) The early stages of any dispute.
