Paul had kindly offered to come along and speak to the Parish Council about the proposed plans of the church in terms of moving forward with the times and how this can be achieved in conjunction with the parish council’s facilities at Underwood and any others. A very informative presentation was provided covering some of the history of the church, but also what needs to be done to bring it up to present day expectations and requirements. Further information about the church can be found at www.brinsleywithunderwood.com
- Report back on the 3 Jubilee celebrations
The Chair thanked everyone involved in the 3 recent events, right the way through from the initial planning, the setting up, volunteers at the event and service providers on the day and for the clearing away afterwards. All help was very much appreciated. The Chair also went on to thank the public for supporting the events, acknowledging that without the public, events wouldn’t be such a success.

A discussion took place around item 11 of correspondence, concerning the sharing of sports pitch at Selston Parish Hall. It was acknowledged that both the football club and cricket club are both doing very well, however, they are well oversubscribed for the facilities available to them. There is also now more of an overlap between one season finishing and next one starting. Selston High School pitches and Leisure facilities are no longer open to the public so the assistance of Ashfield District Council has been requested.
Cllr D Martin informed that there are ongoing talks with the Two Counties Trust, he has given contact details for Bracken Park to Selston Football Club and that there may be a pitch available at Mayfield Street Kirkby which he would investigate.
It was AGREED for the Clerk to send a response to the resident outlining the Parish Council’s position.
Item 6 – The Chair reminded Councillors of the New Councillor Training currently available in July if anyone was interested in doing this. At the moment, there is only 1 Councillor come forward to do it.

- Update from Allotment Representatives on recent inspections and consider any proposals/action required
Cllrs Easom and Wright reported that they had undertaken an inspection of both sites today.
90% of the allotments were being looked after, but there were some concerns which needed addressing. It had also been indicated that the Allotments committee would like the Parish Council to be more proactive in their approach, to ensuring that the agreement provisions are strictly followed, enabling any neglected plots to be taken on by someone else from the waiting list. Concerns were raised about the high cost of water which the Parish Council pay in comparison to the amount of income received so it will be an Agenda item for the next Council meeting.
RESOLVED: To delegate the Allotment representatives to work with the office and for letters to be sent out as necessary.
